Practice hit by death of much-loved vet

Seadown Veterinary Group in Hampshire has been hit by tragedy following the death of much-loved veterinary surgeon, Rita Mesquita.

Seadown has released the following statement: “It is with real sadness that we have to inform you of the sudden and unexpected death of our veterinary surgeon Rita [pictured], who died at home on Monday [2 July].”

Highly talented

It continued: “Rita has been a highly talented and valued member of staff at Seadown for four years and has always been very popular with our clients and staff alike.

“We are all hugely shocked and devastated and we would ask for your understanding as we come to terms with this tragic event.”

Support

It concluded: “Our condolences go to Rita’s family and friends – and to our staff, who have all been informed. Plans are in place to provide support to those affected and we ask for patience over the next few days while we make the necessary postponements and changes to our appointments schedule.

“In due course, we will be taking time to consider how best to pay our respects and remember Rita, who is going to be sorely missed by her Seadown family and all who knew and loved her.”
